Hi. My name is Rebecca Gordon.

My journey into physical therapy was shaped by my own experiences with injury and pain. During my last semester studying dance at Hunter College, I sustained labral tears in both hips. My physical therapist at the time advised me to stop dancing altogether. Devastated, I turned to other forms of movement, finding joy in yoga and weightlifting, but I always missed dance. Later, while pursuing my physical therapy degree, I discovered there were far more effective ways to treat my injuries that could have allowed me to continue dancing. Armed with this newfound knowledge, I rehabilitated myself and now enjoy dancing, weightlifting, running, horseback riding, and HIIT —all without pain.

My expertise in the pelvic floor, an integral part of the musculoskeletal system, both informs and enhances my orthopedic practice.

As a deep “core” muscle group, the pelvic floor plays a crucial role in athletic performance and functional movement. With advanced certifications from the American Physical Therapy Association and the Herman & Wallace Rehabilitation Institute, I address complex pelvic and musculoskeletal issues across a range of needs, from pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, and bowel/bladder dysfunction to sports injuries and other orthopedic concerns. I also support patients before, during, and after pregnancy, helping them achieve their athletic goals with optimal pelvic and abdominal core function.

My approach empowers patients to build an intellectual and intuitive understanding of their bodies, supporting their athletic and functional pursuits for life.

I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York University, and B.A. in Dance from Hunter College. Am also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) as well as a 500-hour Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT-500) trained in India. My yoga training enriches my physical therapy practice with principles of breathwork and body-mind awareness, while my CSCS certification enhances my expertise in higher-level strength training and performance optimization. Guided by my passion for movement and the empowerment it provides, I deliver individualized, comprehensive care at KO Physical Therapy, helping each patient reclaim and maintain an active life.

Let’s get you moving.
